Lilavati Hospital Mumbai Brings for the 2’nd Time 'Save and Empower girl child'


India throughout history has been well inclined with the fact that it is a patriarchal society that has been focusing more on the need for male heir as compared to the female child. This is with the prospect that there are many unborn girl child and even if they are born they have to undergo serious prejudices keeping this key point in mind the lilavati hospital Mumbai has taken up a major role to eradicate such ill rituals and natures of injustices. It has thus been under the very fact that a campaign known as 'Save and Empower girl child' by lilavati hospital chetan mehta (and rashmi mehta key trustees of lilavati hospital)  on the 5th of February at the Taj Lands End, Bandra. A panel of discussion was taken up led by Dr. Kiran Coelho, who is also the chairperson and supported by eminent film personalities along with exclusive dance and musical evening from noted personalities from the field.

This is the result of showcasing the very importance of a girl child in our society that is brought forth by lilavati hospital chetan Mehta in fighting against female feticide in the country. Further it was later followed with the a fashion show that was focused on the female dress attire in support of the cause by designer Manish Malhotra along with mainstream actress such as Madhuri Dixit, Preity Zinta, Malaika Arora Khan, Isha Kopikar, Evelyn Sharma, Mandira Bedi who dazzled the entire show with their elegance and beauty and pride of being a women. It is the second year that such an event has taken place. Singer Mika Singh has also pledged on the event with his talent and an amount of 2 Lakh for the up liftmen and help to the girl child.
